Sample itinerary – 12

VARANASI – VINDHYACHAL – PRAYAGRAJ  ( 3 OR 4 NIGHTS ):

Itinerary:

Day 1 : At Varanasi. Check in at the hotel, followed by lunch.
03:00 pm: After lunch, proceed for darshan to Sankatmochan and Durga Mandirs.
06:00 pm: Kashi Vishwanath temple, Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
08:00 pm: Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:
08:00 am. Departure from Varanasi for Vindhyachal.
09:30 am. Arrival at Vindhyachal.

Vindhyachal Temple, also known as Maa Vindhyavasini Temple and Vindhyachal Dham, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Vindhyavasini, situated on the bank of the river Ganga at Vindhyachal in Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the Shakti Pitha temples in India.

According to scriptures, Vindhyachal city is also believed to be the abode of Goddess Durga. Near this place, many temples dedicated to other deities can also be found. It is said that the goddess chose Vindhyachal to stay after killing the demon Mahishasura. Thousands of devotees can be seen in the temples of Vindhyachal and this number increases even more during the days of Navratri.

Visit Maa Vindhyavasini Temple, Kali Khoh, Ashtabhuji Devi temple.

01:00 pm. Lunch break.
02:00 pm. Departure for the city of Prayagraj.

Prayagraj ( Allahabad ) is one of the prominent and sacred cities of India. Described with great reverence in ancient scriptures as Prayag or Teerthraj, ie. the holiest pilgrimage site, Prayagraj is situated at the confluence of three of India’s holiest rivers, the Ganga, the Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. The Sangam, as the confluence of the three rivers is called, is the venue of many sacred fairs & rituals, and attracts thousands of pilgrims throughout the year.

05:00 pm. At Prayagraj: See the Sangam and Hanuman Temple.

Day 3: At Prayagraj. Sightsee the Fort and Anand Bhawan. The Allahabad Fort was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar at Prayagraj in 1583. The fort stands on the banks of the Yamuna, near its confluence with the Ganges.
The Anand Bhawan is a house turned into a museum. The house belongs to the Nehru family.
