Tea, Wellness & Yoga Tour – 11 Nights & 12 Days

Itinerary: Travel to India in November to begin the tea expedition with a visit to Darjeeling. Follow with a visit to the city of Kolkata (Calcutta), the former capital of British India, to experience its  rich history and culture. Move on to the yoga capital of the world, Rishikesh for immersive experiences in yoga, followed by a wellness retreat at Dehradun. Top off the tour by staying at India’s capital, New Delhi!

Days 1 – 4: Begin your retreat in the tranquil hills of Darjeeling, renowned for its tea estates and panoramic views:

Day 1: Arrival at Delhi around 11:00 AM. To be met on arrival and transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Take a morning flight from Delhi to Bagdogra. Upon arrival, take a leisurely drive to TajResort and Spa in Makaibari. Overnight stay.
Activities: Engage in morning yoga sessions with views of grand vistas.

Day 3: Garden/Factory visit at Makaibari with local sightseeing.

Day 4: Check out from Makaibari early and drive to Bagdogra airport for the flight to Kolkata.

Days 4- 5: Kolkata ( formerly Calcutta ), is the capital and the largest city of the state of West Bengal. It is regarded by many as the cultural capital of India. Upon arrival check into the hotel Fairfield by Marriott or similar. In the evening visit Park Street, a bustling district with a colonial charm lined with diverse dining from street-eats to upscale cuisine. It also has vibrant shopping as well as historical landmarks to add to its nostalgic ambiance.

Overnight stay.

Witness the making of Maa Durga idols Kumartuli, KolkataDay 5: After breakfast, visit the region of Kumartuli to witness the making of goddess Durga idols. Suggested place for lunch after the visit:  Koshe-Kosha, an Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant.

Post lunch, take a tour to the Writer’s Building. The 242-year-old, prominent red-brick building is noticeable even from a distance. The architecture of the building is fascinating. It was once the place of work as well as residence for junior servants of East India Trading Company.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Days 6-8: Kolkata to Dehradun: After breakfast, take the morning flight to Dehradun (operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays only). Upon arrival, check in at The Six Senses Vana Dehradun: Here, Ayurveda, yoga, Tibetan medicine and Natural Healing therapies are on offer along with a kind-hearted team and personalized support.

Day 11 : Come to the capital of India, Delhi. Overnight stay.Day 12: Proceed as per the program.
